Dana Vansant
Dana T. Vansant, PT, OCS, CSCS, CPT is the owner of Orthopedic Physical Therapy & Fitness in Columbiana, Alabama. Dana is a lifelong resident of Columbiana, graduating from Shelby County High School in 1980. He earned a B.S. degree in Physical Education from the University of Montevallo in 1984 and a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1988.
Dana was board-certified in 1996 as a Clinical Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. He also holds certifications as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist from the National Strength and Conditioning Association and as a Personal Trainer from the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Dana is a member of several professional societies including the American Physical Therapy Association, the National Strength and Conditioning Association, the National Academy of Sports Medicine, and the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists. He was recently honored by the Kinesiology Department of the University of Montevallo as the alumnus of the year for 2007.
In the community, Dana has served on the Columbiana Parks and Recreation Board and has coached Dixie youth baseball. He and his family are active members of First Baptist Church of Columbiana. Dana currently volunteers his time as the physical therapy consultant to the athletic department of Shelby County High School.
Dana and his wife Jackie have two children. Their daughter, Megan, is a recent graduate of the University of Alabama and is a first-year medical student at the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham, Alabama. Their son, Dane, plays baseball at Huntington College in Montgomery, Alabama.
